Hi,
It’s me. Penny!
I was sitting in the middle of the road.
You probably saw that part.
There were cracks everywhere. Long ones. Deep ones. Some so wide I could see straight down into the dark. So I did what I know how to do…
I started patching them.
Little bandages. One at a time. Press and smooth. Press and smooth.
Because that’s what patchwork angels do.
We stitch.
We mend.
We cover the broken places so no one trips.
But after a while…
I sat back.
And I looked.
And I realized something.
This needs more than a bandage.
The Cracks Are More Than Surface Deep
The cracks weren’t accidents.
They weren’t random.
They weren’t just “wear and tear.”
They were fractures.
You can’t heal a fracture by covering it up. A fracture needs attention beneath the surface. It needs light, truth, and care that reaches deeper than a quick fix.
When silence covers harm, the cracks grow deeper. The longer we ignore the fractures, the harder they become to heal.
Why Silence Feels Heavy
The world feels overwhelming sometimes.
Pain feels layered.
Silence feels heavy.
Silence is what lets harm hide.
Silence is what lets abuse grow roots.
Silence is what keeps fractures from being seen.
When we don’t speak up, we allow the brokenness to spread. We allow the wounds to fester in the dark.
I held the red phone for a long time before I picked it up. It felt scary. But clarity always does at first.
Ending Silence Starts With Courage
Now I know what we need to do first.
We don’t start with another bandage.
We start with light.
We start with truth.
We start by ending silence.
This campaign isn’t about shouting. It’s about courage. It’s about saying:
“If something is broken, we will not pretend it isn’t.”
If you see something — say something.
If you know something — report it.
If you’ve been hurt — you deserve to be heard.
How Ending Silence Creates Healing
Ending silence does not create chaos. It creates accountability. It creates protection. It creates healing that actually reaches beneath the surface.
Healing adults protects children. Truth prevents fractures. Light exposes what silence protects.
When we speak up, we stop the cycle. We stop the fractures from growing. We stop the harm from hiding.
