Understanding Emotional Neglect — Part 3 of 7
A collaboration by DREAMTEAM Studios™ ✦ END Silence™
Sometimes the deepest wounds are not caused by what happened. Sometimes they are formed by what was missing.
A child who is not heard may grow up believing their voice does not matter. Emotional neglect can leave invisible wounds—the quiet ache of being dismissed, overlooked, silenced, or afraid to speak.
But God hears.
He hears the cry that never found words.
He hears the child who learned to stay quiet.
He hears the adult still trying to believe their voice matters.
To be heard is to know someone listened. To be heard is to know your voice mattered. To be heard is to begin healing.
Your voice matters. Your story matters. You are not invisible to God.
"The LORD hath heard my supplication; the LORD will receive my prayer." > — Psalm 6:9 (KJV)"The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles." > — Psalm 34:17 (KJV)
Healing begins where silence ends. One truth. One voice. One stitch at a time.

To be heard is more than someone listening to words. It is someone caring enough to recognize that your voice matters.
Some wounds come from what was said. Others come from all the times no one listened.
A child who is ignored may grow into an adult who apologizes for having needs.
Being heard can be the first stitch in healing.
Sometimes the deepest ache is not that we had too much to say. It is that we learned no one wanted to hear it.
Your voice matters, even if it trembles.
God heard the cries you never knew how to explain.
Emotional neglect can teach people to stay quiet. Healing teaches them they are allowed to speak.
You were…
This starts in early childhood. Parents teach the child they are not worth listening to, Then that same child will grow up feeling no one even wants to hear them - and they silence themself.
