Life rarely follows the paths we imagine. I once pictured a clear, simple journey for my faith and work, but reality brought detours, delays, and unexpected losses. I had to learn to let go of my plans and embrace a new way forward. What I discovered is that God uses the broken pieces of our lives to create something meaningful—not perfect, but real.
This space, this community, was born from that truth. It wasn’t built on certainty or strategy, but on real life and the courage to keep moving forward.
When Transformation Takes Time
Our culture loves quick fixes and dramatic changes. We see before-and-after stories and expect transformation to happen overnight. But real change is different. It is a slow, steady process that unfolds through daily choices.
The Bible reminds us in Romans 12:2: “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” This renewal is not a one-time event. It happens when we decide to think differently, even when it feels uncomfortable or unclear.
For survivors, this process can be especially challenging. Healing and growth often require patience and persistence. It means choosing to trust God even when the path is uncertain and the progress feels invisible.

Small Steps Matter
Transformation happens in small, often unseen moments:
Choosing forgiveness instead of bitterness
Speaking truth even when it’s hard
Seeking support from others instead of isolating
Praying for strength to face the day
Each choice builds on the last, creating a foundation for lasting change.
Obedience Comes Before Understanding
One of the hardest lessons I’ve learned is that obedience often comes before clarity. We don’t always get the full picture or feel ready. Sometimes, all we have is the next right step and a quiet nudge to take it.
This community began that way. There was no master plan, only a willingness to say yes to what was asked in the moment. That kind of obedience is quiet and steady. It requires courage to move forward without seeing the whole path.
For survivors, this means trusting God with the unknown and being willing to take small steps toward healing and connection. It means showing up even when the way forward is unclear.

From Me to We: Building Community Together
Change begins with one person choosing to be honest and vulnerable. But it doesn’t end there. Real transformation grows when we come together as a community.
Survivors know the power of connection. Healing is not a solo journey. It happens when we support one another, share our stories, and create together. This community is a place where we can be real, imperfect, and hopeful.
Creating together means:
Listening without judgment
Offering encouragement and support
Sharing resources and experiences
Building trust through consistent presence
When we move from “me” to “we,” we create a space where everyone can grow and heal.
Embracing the Journey
This journey is not about rushing to a destination. It’s about embracing the process, trusting God with the pieces we didn’t plan, and choosing to grow every day. For survivors, this means finding strength in community and courage in obedience.
If you are reading this, know that your next right step matters. You don’t have to have it all figured out. You just need to show up, be honest, and be willing to grow. Together, we can create a community where transformation happens—not perfectly, but truly.

It's taken a lifetime -- of putting patches together. Of being in survival mode - thank you Jesus for stitching them all together in such a beautiful way.
