Bless It!!!

Penny was having one of those days where everything felt just a little off. Nothing was seriously wrong, but little things kept going sideways. Her shoelace wouldn’t stay tied. Her patchwork sleeve caught on the door handle again. And when she finally sat down with a warm mug of tea, the handle snapped off, spilling tea everywhere.

I’ve been there too. Those moments when frustration bubbles up, ready to burst out. But Penny did something different. Instead of cursing the day or the broken mug, she paused, sighed, and said, “Bless it.” That simple phrase shifted her whole perspective.

This story isn’t just about a spilled cup of tea. It’s about how faith inspired healing can change the way we face life’s little messes, especially for survivors of trauma. It’s about choosing peace when things don’t go as planned. Here’s what I’ve learned from Penny’s story and my own journey.

How Small Moments Shape Our Healing

When Penny’s mug broke, she could have let frustration take over. Instead, she chose to bless the moment. This simple act of faith centered her in a Christ-centered way. It reminded me how often we let small setbacks steal our peace and joy.

For survivors of trauma, these small moments can feel overwhelming. The weight of past pain makes every little thing seem bigger. But faith based healing teaches us to pause, breathe, and speak life into those moments. Saying “Bless it” isn’t about ignoring pain or pretending everything is perfect. It’s about aligning our hearts with hope and healing.

The Power of Words in Healing

Words carry power. What we say over ourselves and our situations can either build us up or tear us down. Penny’s choice to say “Bless it” was a faith inspired act that shifted her mindset. It reminded her that even in brokenness, there is space for grace.

In my own experience, I’ve seen how faith based healing grows when we speak blessings over our lives. It doesn’t erase the struggle, but it changes how we carry it. This is especially true for survivors of trauma who often battle negative self-talk and despair.

Here are some ways to use words for healing:

  • Speak kindness to yourself when things go wrong

  • Remind yourself of God’s love and presence

  • Use faith centered affirmations like “Bless it” or “God is with me”

  • Share your struggles with a trusted community or dreamteam studios group

Finding Healing in the Patchwork of Life

Penny’s patchwork sleeve is a perfect metaphor for the healing journey. Life stitches together moments of joy, pain, and growth. For survivors of trauma, the patchwork can feel messy and uneven. But faith inspired healing invites us to see beauty in the imperfect.

The Patchwork Oniverse, a community created by dreamteam studios, celebrates this very idea. It’s a space where people come together to share their stories, support one another, and find Christ centered healing. Like Penny, we learn to bless the broken pieces and trust that God is weaving them into something meaningful.

Healing doesn’t mean everything fits perfectly right away. It means embracing the process, trusting God’s timing, and choosing blessing even when the mess remains.

Laughing Through the Mess

Later that day, Penny tripped and fell on the grass. Instead of getting upset, she laughed and said, “Okay, bless it.” That laughter wasn’t about ignoring pain. It was about finding lightness in the struggle.

Faith based healing often includes moments like this—where we find joy despite difficulty. It’s a reminder that healing is not just about fixing what’s broken but about learning to live fully with what is.

For survivors of trauma, laughter and blessing can be powerful tools. They help us reclaim peace and remind us that God’s grace covers every fall.

Choosing Blessing Changes Us

Penny’s story shows that blessing isn’t weakness. It’s a choice to align with hope and healing. It’s a faith inspired act that shifts perspective and invites peace.

If you’re walking a healing journey, especially as a survivor of trauma, remember this:

  • You don’t have to force a smile

  • You can acknowledge the mess and still choose blessing

Saying “Bless it” can be a powerful step toward emotional healing. It’s a way to speak life into your story, even when the situation doesn’t change immediately.

Healing is a journey filled with ups and downs. But faith based healing, rooted in Christ centered love, offers a path forward. Like Patchwork Penny, we can learn to bless the broken moments and trust that God is working through every piece.
