“You’re not good enough.”“No one will ever believe you.”“You should just stay silent.”“You’re far too broken to ever heal.”
For many survivors, these monsters didn't appear overnight. They were fed slowly, day by day, on a steady diet of pain, betrayal, abuse, manipulation, neglect, and the crushing weight of feeling entirely unseen.

We don't talk about armor because life is a fairytale, or because we're pretending our real-world battles are just stories of dragons and castles. We talk about armor because spiritual warfare is real.

The battle for truth is real.
Every single day, whether we realize it or not, a war is being waged to convince you to give up, stay quiet, lose hope, or entirely forget who God says you are.
Even Penny Faces Dragons
In the Patchwork Oniverse™, even Penny has to look these monsters in the eye. She has faced:
The dragon of silence and suffocating fear.
The dragon of rejection and paralyzing self-doubt.
The dragon of feeling "too small" to ever matter.
The dragon of darkness when it disguises itself as comfortable numbness.
The dragon of believing that healing was impossible.

Ephesians 6 reminds us to actively put on our defense: the Belt of Truth, the Breastplate of Righteousness, the Shield of Faith, the Helmet of Salvation, and the Sword of the Spirit.
Not someday. Daily. Because dragons do not take days off—and neither does the enemy.

But here is the beautiful truth you need to hold onto today: God does not ask you to become fearless before He walks with you.
He simply asks you to trust Him enough to take the next step anyway.
That is what true courage is. It is not the absence of fear; it is the defiant decision to stand your ground anyway.
Perhaps that’s why this series matters so deeply. Because somewhere out there, someone is silently fighting a dragon that nobody else can see. Someone is smiling publicly while privately battling deep despair, carrying heavy wounds they never asked for, and wondering if they are simply too broken to fix.
